Rami Al Shawawrah

Rami Al Shawawrah is a senior litigator in civil, commercial, and administrative matters at Abdullah & Partners. Over the course of his career he has represented corporations, associations, and private clients before the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal, and the Court of Cassation in Amman, and has appeared in specialised administrative forums on matters of professional governance and public law. Clients engage him on mandates where technical litigation capability must be combined with an understanding of how Jordan's regulators and professional syndicates operate in practice.

Alongside his work at the firm, Rami has held senior elected positions within Jordan's professional Bar. He has served four consecutive terms as a Council Member of the Jordanian Bar Association, the profession's regulator established under Jordanian Bar Association Law No. 11 of 1972, and a term as the Association's Deputy Head. He has also served two consecutive terms as Secretary-General of the Professional Associations Council of Jordan, a position that places him at the intersection of the Kingdom's major professional syndicates and its public institutions.

He is admitted to the Jordanian Bar Association and practises within the ethical framework established by Law No. 11 of 1972. Article 54 of that Law directs every lawyer to uphold the principles of "honour, uprightness, and integrity." His record of Bar leadership, combined with an active litigation practice, has given him sustained familiarity with both the letter and the institutional practice of the rules he applies in court.

Rami's practice as a litigation lawyer in Jordan covers three overlapping areas. First, civil and commercial litigation: contract disputes, debt recovery, tort actions, and shareholder and company disputes brought before Jordanian courts. Second, administrative law matters: challenges to administrative decisions, regulatory disputes, and matters touching Jordan's public-sector and professional-association framework. Third, dispute resolution in its wider sense: mediation, settlement negotiation, and alternative dispute-resolution work that allows clients to avoid litigation where a commercial settlement can be reached.

On the advisory side, he supports the firm's corporate clients on matters that touch professional governance, regulatory compliance, and institutional risk. His Bar-leadership service makes him particularly effective on files where a client's exposure turns on how regulators, courts, and professional associations actually apply the rules in practice, not only how the rules read on paper.
