01Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using the website at abdullahfirm.com or the Abdullah & Partners mobile application (together, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms are a binding agreement between you ("you," "the user") and Abdullah & Partners, Attorneys & Legal Consultants ("the Firm," "we," "us," "our"), a law practice registered with the Jordanian Bar Association.
Binding Agreement
Your continued use of the Platform after any revision of these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
02Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- "Content" means all text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, software, data compilations, and other material published on the Platform by the Firm.
- "User Content" means any material you submit to the Platform, including contact-form entries, job applications, and correspondence.
- "Services" means the legal services the Firm provides under a separate written engagement letter; the Platform itself is not a "Service" in that sense.
- "Jurisdiction" means the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unless the context requires otherwise.
03Scope & Applicability
These Terms apply to all visitors, including prospective clients, existing clients, counterparties, journalists, researchers, job applicants, and members of the public. They apply to every means of accessing the Platform, desktop, mobile browser, native app, RSS, or API.
Separate terms govern the attorney-client relationship: where you engage us as your lawyer, the terms of that engagement are set out in a signed retainer or engagement letter, which prevails over these Terms in any conflict relating to the Services.
04No Attorney-Client Relationship
Use of the Platform does not create, and is not intended to create, an attorney-client relationship between you and the Firm. An attorney-client relationship arises only after:
- We have completed our conflict-of-interest check;
- We have agreed in writing to represent you; and
- You have signed an engagement letter or retainer agreement with us.
Do Not Send Confidential Information
Please do not send us confidential or privileged information through the Platform, email, or WhatsApp until you receive written confirmation that we are acting for you. Unsolicited communications may not be privileged and may not prevent us from representing a party adverse to you in the same or a related matter.
05Intellectual Property
All Content on the Platform, including the name, logo, trade dress, articles, insights, legislation summaries, practice-area descriptions, photographs, illustrations, icons, and underlying code, is owned by the Firm or its licensors and is protected by Jordanian and international copyright, trademark, and related intellectual-property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Platform and to view and download Content solely for personal, non-commercial, informational purposes.
This licence does not permit you to:
- Reproduce, distribute, or publish Content in any form beyond reasonable personal use;
- Use our name, logo, or trade dress to suggest affiliation or endorsement;
- Alter, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Content;
- Use any automated system, scraper, or data-harvesting tool to access the Platform;
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.
Any use beyond this licence requires our prior written permission at info@abdullahfirm.com.
06Permitted Use
You may use the Platform to:
- Learn about the Firm, its lawyers, and its practice areas;
- Read published insights, legislative updates, and client alerts;
- Submit an enquiry, request a consultation, or apply for a position;
- Contact the Firm through the channels provided;
- Share a link to a Platform page with proper attribution.
07Prohibited Use
You must not use the Platform to:
- Violate any law, regulation, or professional-conduct rule;
- Infringe the intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights of others;
- Transmit viruses, malware, or any code designed to interrupt or impair the Platform;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, servers, or accounts;
- Submit false, defamatory, obscene, or threatening material;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Interfere with another user's enjoyment of the Platform;
- Use the Platform for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.
Consequences of Misuse
We reserve the right, without notice, to suspend your access to the Platform, to remove offending material, to report you to the competent authority, and to seek any remedy available at law or in equity for any breach of these Terms.
08User Submissions
By submitting User Content to us, for example, through a contact form, careers form, or email, you represent and warrant that:
- The content is accurate and not misleading;
- You own or have the right to share it;
- It does not violate any law or third-party right.
You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, copy, store, and process User Content for the purpose of responding to your enquiry, providing our Services, and operating our firm. We treat User Content in accordance with our Privacy Policy and our professional duty of confidentiality.
09Third-Party Links & Resources
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, legislation portals, court decisions, and social-media profiles. These links are provided for convenience and information only. We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for third-party content, and we make no warranty as to the accuracy or availability of any linked resource.
Accessing a third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy.
10Disclaimers of Warranty
The Platform and all Content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of:
- Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement;
- Accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of Content;
- Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Platform;
- The absence of viruses or other harmful components.
Published insights, legislative summaries, and general commentary are not legal advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer on the facts of your case. Laws change, and information that was accurate when published may become outdated.
11Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Jordanian law, the Firm, its partners, lawyers, staff, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity;
- Loss arising from reliance on Content;
- Loss arising from any interruption, delay, or unavailability of the Platform;
- Damage caused by viruses, denial-of-service attacks, or other malicious code that may infect your device as a result of your use of the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability for fraud.
12Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Firm and its partners, lawyers, staff, and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your User Content;
- Your violation of any law or third-party right;
- Your misuse of the Platform.
13Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, the Platform, or its Content are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
The competent courts of Amman, Jordan, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights of users ordinarily resident in another jurisdiction that grant them the right to bring proceedings in their local courts.
Access from Other Countries
If you access the Platform from outside Jordan, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law. We make no representation that Content is appropriate or available for use in any particular country.
14Modifications & Contact
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Material changes will be identified by an updated "Last Reviewed" at the top of the document. Your continued use of the Platform after a revision is posted signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
